When an Indian war party relieves Joe Bass of his precious furs and to make the transaction 'legal', they 'trade' him once Mexico-bound, runaway slave Lee for the furs, Joe is understandably a little upset. Joe's upset turns in to downright anger when the Indians are brutally slaughtered by a band of Scalphunters who just happen to steal Joe's well-travelled furs in the process.
Burt Lancaster is Joe Bass and Telly Savalas plays Scalphunters leader Jim Howie in Sydney Pollack's epic comedy western.
