Piranha

Two hitch hikers mysteriousy disappear in mountains surrounding a lakeside resort. Whilst investingating the case, private detective Maggie McKeown (Heather Menzie) and tough but embittered local, Paul Grogan (Bradford Dillman) make a horrifying discovery; a mad doctor's stock of mutant Piranha fish have been released accidentally into the nearby mountain streams. Frantic efforts to prevent the fish from infiltrating the waters running through the resort come to no avail, and what for many had started as a vacation in paradise, turns into a living nightmare. Piranha splendidly reworks the 'Jaws' theme and in many ways improves upon its kingsize predecessor.
