After 14 years, Jo discovered her wayward father again. And through him the promise of a life and love of her own Frank Butler is anything but the perfect father - a down-at-heel racehorse trainer who hits the bottle. so when he comes back into his daughter's life after 14 years and wants to take her off to his job at the New York racetrack, young Jo is apprehensive and her aunt horrified. But slowly Jo learns to love and understand Frank and, her feelings heightened by her own first love affair, she even accepts his romance with the attractive Marie.
