EVEN THE DANGERS OF THE DESERT COULDN'T KEEP THE BOY AND HORSE APART! This rousing family film is one of those rare cinema sequels that is every bit as enjoyable as the original movie. Kelly Reno, the charming young star of 1979's The Black Stallion, appears again as Alec Ramsay, now 16 and plunged into a series of exciting experiences with the magnificent horse he saved from the shipwreck and trained to become a racing champion. The thrills and action begin when Arabian steed is kidnapped by its rightful owner, a Berber sheik, and taken from America to North Africa. But Alec is determined not to lose his horse and stows away on a plane to Morocco and makes his way across the desert from Casablanca to Wadi Draa where he finds the stallion again. But that is only the start of his breathtaking experiences which culminate in an edge-of-the-seat race across the desert with Alec triumphantly in the saddle...The film is directed with great pace and skill by Robert Dalva, who makes impressive use of the beautifully photographed locations in Morocco, Algeria and Italy and, said the New Musical Express, "This is one adventure film which gives off genuine vibes of youth and abolescent independence". © United Artists Corp.
