At a tennis match Alvy is introduced to Annie Hall. They fall in love. Alvy encourages Annie's intrest in singing. She meets record tycoon Tony Lacey who discusses a possible recording contract with her. Like Alvy, Annie also has phobias. A psychiatrist urges her to be more liberated and do just as she pleases.
