This zany comedy spectacular from Steven Spielberg , the director of Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, is set in Los Angeles just days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, when the fear of a Japanese invasion threw the city into a state of pandemonium. 1941 features dozens of screwball characters, a full-scale riot on Hollywood Boulevard, a runaway ferris wheel, and the demolition of a two storey home. The all star cast includes John Belushi as the crazy, gung ho fighter pilot Wild Bill Kelso. Screenplay by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale.
