Addtional Notes:
One of the rarest formats on which James Bond titles were issued, Video 8 was an analogue camcorder format developed by the Sony Corporation of Japan. Although essentially aimed at the video-camera market, several of the larger home-video distributors, in a small number of countries (Germany, Japan, UK, USA, Finland), licensed movies for Video 8 consumers. In Japan, the OO7 catalogue from Dr. No to The Living Daylights (15 titles) was issued on Video 8 in 1989/90. In comparison to the VHS market, Video 8 titles were produced in significantly smaller numbers; of which even less actually sold. With regard to 'collectability factor', Video 8 OO7 titles are possibly the most uncommon (some might say 'rarest') of all consumer home-video formats marketed to date; even OO7 titles released on the failed U.S. DIVX format and Japan-only VHD format can still be easily found relative to Video 8 releases. AFAIK, Japan OO7 Video 8 releases were limited to a single edition (except The Living Daylights which was issued in two editions). For the OO7 collector, Video 8 'Bond' titles are collectible due to their unique rarity factor relative to any other format (i.e. VHS/Betamax, V2000, LaserDisc, DVD, Blu-ray, VCD, CED, UMD, DIVX and VHD).
