Desperate for a career break, a Manhattan journalist fakes a cover story on a sordid life of a Times Square pimp. But the article he's falsified mirrors the brutal world of a real flesh-peddler on trial for murder.

Rather than admit the feature was a pack of lies, he is imprisoned after refusing to submit his notes as vital evidence in court. And when he finally does, no-one will believe him. This action endangers the lives of himself, his girlfriend and a prostitute he has befriended.

To get even, he must get Street Smart - and fast. Or the terrifying vendetta will result in even more tragedy.
