Channel swimmers,The Charleston Stutz Bearcats, "It" girls, Black Bottom, Ragtime, Marathon Dancers, Flagpole Sitters, and then suddenly, roaring out of the roaring twenties came a shy, lanky guy called "Lucky Lindy". The Spirit of St Louis is the story of Charles A Lindbergh, the first man to fly solo, 3,600 miles across the Atlantic. In the early morning of May 20th, 1927 Lindbergh took off in a small bi-plane from Roosevelt Field, New York. 331/2 hours latter he landed in France. Hollywood legend James Stewart plays Lindbergh in one of the most gripping and heroic stories ever told. For nearly a day and a half the world held its breath.
