Silence of the North

Certain people bring such overwhelming love and courage to their lives that they are true heroes. They live adventures, and struggle for survival. And they win. Olive Fredrickson is such an inspiring hero. "Silence Of The North," starring Ellen Burstyn, is based on 80-year-old Olive Fredrickson's autobiography. It tells of her life as a girl, then a trapper's wife and later a widow with three small childen surviving under rugged pioneer conditions in northern Alberta Canada from the early 1900's through to the depression. © Universal Productions Canada.
