Now the killing fields are silent, the HERO stands alone! 'Heroes' is a poignant, hilarious story of a Vietnam veteran's re-orientation into society. It details the drama of Jack Dunne (Henry Winkler), a confused pain-laden Vietnam veteran whose unquechable enthusiasm for life sends him on an odyessy back to acceptance, to reality. . . Jack escapes from the Veteran's hospital with a $1,000 donated by his fellow patients. The money is for a worm farm that Jack is determined to start in Eureka with several of his war buddies. En route, he meets an equally confused misfit Carol Bell ( played by the award winning Sally Field). Together they travel across the country causing chaos wherever they go. Somewhere along the way a relationship develops between the two of them, and Jack is on the way to being liberated from the unrelenting memories of war. Harrison Ford co-stars as Ken, Jacks's old war time buddy, who is also having difficulty learning to adjust after the hell of Vietnam. © Universal City Studios, Inc.
