Number Engaged The platoon has been given a very important mission - to patrol a stretch of telephone wires which also relay information from the invasion warning device set up off the coast. It all seems to be in hand until-during the vicar's open-air service-they "raise their faces to heaven" , only to see an unexpected bomb caught in the wires. Never Too Old At first everyone assumes that old age lies behind Jones' increasing woolly-headedness. But nothing could be further from the truth - its all because he's fallen in love. The object of his affection is the formidably upholstered Mrs Fox and he's asked her to marry him. But will she say yes? © BBC
