Culpepper Cattle Company, The
CBS/FOX

Sleeve Sypnosis:
A 16-year old boy (Gary Grimes) is attracted by the glamour of the American West and determines to become a cowboy. When he is taken on by Frank Culpepper (Billy 'Green' Bush) as a cook's helper on a cattle drive his dreams seem about to be realised. But once the drive from Texas to Colorado gets underway he is brought fasce to face with reality and discovers that the West is not only tough, dirty and brutal place but also a highly dangerous one as well.
This is one of the most realistic of the Hollywood westerns, set just after the American Civil War and presenting a vivid portrait of the West as it really was. The realism plus the sudden bursts of action-an ambush by the rustlers, a saloon killing, a climatic gun battle with bandits-lift it into the Grade A class.
