The Caine Mutiny
RCA/Columbia Pictures
Sleeve Sypnosis:
Humphrey Bogart is at his best in this fever-pitched drama adapted from Herman Wouk's Pulitzer Prize novel. Captain Queeg takes over the command of the US "Caine" and immediately orders changes to the running of the vessel much against the instincts of the crew and the officers. Slowly the changes and restrictions take on a more ominous form as the Captain is seen to be neurotic and dangerous by the crew.
During a hurricane the Captain finally loses his nerve and the second officer takes over command of the vessel only to be accused by Queeg of mutiny. Ultimately the concerned Queeg takes revenge during the court martial proceedings.
