England, 1787. The Bounty sets sail for Tahiti. So starts a voyage which saw one of the most dramatic epic conflicts at sea between two good friends who became deadly enemies-Captain Bligh and Fletcher Christian.
Tensions mount after an horrific attempt to round the Horn founders. On Tahiti, Bligh battles to restore discipline amongst his crew, bewitched by the voluptuous, half-naked women and other delights of the tropical island. The conflict mounts to crisis point and so begins the most notorious mutiny in Naval history.
With haunting music by Vangelis, of 'Chariots of Fire,' stunning photography, Mel Gibson as headstrong Fletcher Christian, and a powerful performance by Anthony Hopkins as the tortured Bligh.
