THE EXTRAORDINARY AND TOUCHING FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN A BOY AND A HORSE
On board a ship in the Mediterranean during the 1940's, Alec Ramsey is travelling home with his father. The boy notices a magnificent black stallion on board, being calmed by his handlers. During a violent storm Alec, fighting for his life, manages to cut the stallion free. In turn the horse helps Alec, dragging him to shore. They are the sole survivors, and the boy must now come to terms with the loss of his father and cope with existing on a strange island. During his explorations he again has to rescue the stallion, which in turn comes to trust him. Three months go by, with Alec and the horse giving support to each other until eventually they are rescued by a passing ship. but their triumphal return to America and home is only the beginning of a new and greater challenge. . .
