Susan (Sean Young) dreams of being "the most famous scientist in the world. "Her husband George (William Katt) dreams of hearing the patter of tiny feet. While on expedition in deepest jungles of Africa , the young couple's dreams appear to come true when a newborn brontosaurus waddles into their lives. However, their delight with this discovery is abruptly shattered when they find themselves under attack by the ambitious and evil Dr. Kiviat (Patrick McGoohan), a paleozoologist who will stop at nothing - including murder - to capture and exploit the prehistoric beast.
